Larry Norman - "Why Should the Devil..." [Cornerstone 2001]

Uma vez, certo cantor de rock brasileiro cantou que "o diabo é o pai do rock" em um de seus discos. Não vou me limitar à uma análise da espiritualidade do referido cantor, pois, prefiro refutar esse conceito imbecil e mentiroso difundido pelo diabo através do tal cantor.
A bíblia é muito clara ao afirmar que, no inferno, haverá lugar apenas para choro e ranger de dentes, e que o diabo é o pai da mentira (João 8.44). A música foi criada por Deus e deve ser feita, em primeiro lugar para Ele, seja de forma direta (músicas de louvor e adoração) ou indireta (músicas que defendem e pregam os princípios divinos).
No vídeo acima, vemos Larry Norman, considerado o "pai" do rock cristão interpretando uma música de Geoff Moore "Why should the devil have all that good music?", inspirada numa famosa frase do reformador Martinho Lutero ao questionar o porque das Igrejas, em sua época, não usarem determinadas tonalidades, consideradas "do diabo".

O rock pode ser cristão SIM, mas desde que seja feito por pessoas que tenham em Cristo Jesus a base principal para suas canções e condutas dentro e fora dos palcos.
